Come as
you are.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
We are in the season of Pentecost.
A season that celebrates the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church, and walks with us along the long, faithful path of everyday Christian life.
A Christ-centered community
where all are truly welcome.
The most important thing to know about St. James is that it is a welcoming, Christ-centered church with deep roots in Long Branch and an open heart for everyone. For more than 170 years, St. James has been a place where people come to worship, connect, find support, and belong.

Over 170 years on Broadway.
Established in 1854, St. James’ Episcopal Church has stood at the heart of Long Branch through generations of change. Our doors remain open — to lifelong Episcopalians, to first-time visitors, to neighbors of every background.
What makes St. James’ special is its open-hearted spirit. We are a vibrant interfaith hub, opening our doors to people of all backgrounds — hosting Episcopal, non-denominational, and diverse faith communities — and offering a sacred place where everyone can gather, grow, and worship together.
